MISSION STATEMENT:
The Objective of the TMSA is to establish a broad-based, Democratic association of Producers, Promoters and Managers in the field of live theatre with the aim of uniting members with common or related interests.
TMSA’s principle aims are:
- To promote and protect the interest and status of Theatre Producers, promoters and managers
- To negotiate terms of employment in the South African Theatre, and to formulate and regulate policy regarding the relationship between members of their employees.
- To seek to facilitate resolutions of disputes in matters theatrical.
- To obtain legal advice to assist member to conduct their businesses in accordance with legislation and theatre practice
- To monitor, debate and lobby for or against laws and other regulations affection the live theatre.
- To establish and support industry social welfare programs
- To establish a code of ethics and work towards eliminating unfair practices.
- To establish liaison with training institutions, funding institutions, and government structures.
- To recognize, award and otherwise honour individuals and companies who have made significant contributions by investment of their talent, expertise, or resources to the growth and success of The South African Theatre.
